Class Details
Each of our summer camps offers fun, creative experiences where children can learn different languages. Campers will be rotated through 3 different lessons that are 50 minutes each, with time for snack and bathroom breaks built in as they rotate. Our lessons are taught by native speakers and focus on language learning through activities and immediate use. Each day has a specific theme that is repeated through the different lessons. Campers will be taught through art projects, musical and dance activities, and games in addition to traditional lessons and worksheets. Each day at camp builds on the preceding lessons, so that at the end of the week, we hope your child can have a solid appreciation for different languages and cultures around the world. For example, a typical day at camp may look like: • A 20-minutes lesson on how to say "water" and sea animals' names in 5 languages and a drawing activity using word art. • Making blue slime and picking out animals that "float" in it while reviewing what we learned. • Singing a song in Spanish about a day at the beach. • Reading a short children's story in another language and picking out the words we now know. • Playing a card game that matches the same word in several languages with the category it belongs in. • The final day will be a water day, when we will use our linguistic knowledge in a fun competition. All campers and guardians will need to sign a form detailing any food allergies or sensitivities and a liability waiver. These will be sent to you after you register.
